So we specialize and manufacture post frame products. We sell our post frame products through a series of distributors that are located throughout The United States and Canada. The National Frame Builders Association did a survey in 2019 that showed a trend that builders in lumber yards need to be aware of. They stated that builders were moving away from treated wood in the ground to a permanent foundation system to the tune of 43%. You can see the Perma-Column® is that answer. Perma-Column® come in multiple different sizes, depending on the size of building and the scope that you may have. Anything from a three ply two by six column to a five ply two by eight column, even to an eight by eight column, or maybe some of your solid sawn eight by eight cedar posts that you may have. Perma-Column® is the answer that the industry has been looking for and will continue to grow in its share in the marketplace. Do you want to be on board with that trend? Build better, build stronger, build to last.
I'm Jason with Meyer Building. We're out on a job site. It's a 30 by 40 building. We have the post holes dug and we have the Perma-Column® installed in the post holes. We really enjoy using Perma-Column® because we pride ourselves on being a quality builder and Perma-Column® help us achieve that. Perma-Column® are an ICC certified product, concrete in the ground, no wood. So customers really appreciate that as well too. They have a long lasting product, a permanent foundation system in the ground. From our perspective, the cost savings, because we don't have to use treated wood, we can use just standard two bys. When it comes out the job site, it's also fully assembled, so it saves us time on the job site to be able to get the building erected and start constructing it.
Hi, it's Mark Stover with Perma-Column®. I'm at a light commercial job site here in Northwest Indiana. I want to talk to you briefly about what we're doing here. This is an add on building. It's a 50 by 90 building, 12 footer. It's added on to a Polaris dealership. This is really good for him. He called Meijer Building and says, Hey, I want to add on to it. And Meijer Building is a post frame pole barn builder. And thus, we're putting in a pole barn constructed building. Now because of code, we've had to use an insulated trench foundation, which is a perfect match for poured footings and our Perma-Column®. This is our Perma-Column® 6,300, which is a two by six three ply post as you can see goes up 12 feet. The advantages of course the post frame it's very economical, it's fast, it's thermally efficient and from an aesthetic standpoint it just really looks good. It's a perfect match for what this business owner wanted. Now he had choices. He could have gone to brick, he could have gone to block, he could have gone to steel, he could have gone to framing, stud framing, but he chose post frame for the reasons that I stated before, which is the economics, the speed, and the aesthetics, and the structural integrity and the values associated. Now as we all know, Perma-Column® are ICC certified. They are designed to meet international building codes as well as international residential codes. It is a patented product, so it's only available through Perma-Column® technical license distributors, which are located throughout The United States. We build better, we build stronger, and we build the last.

At Meijer Building we pride ourselves in being a quality builder and one of the ways that we accomplish that is using Perma-Column®. The Perma-Column® provide us a permanent foundation for the customer to give them a good quality product that's going to be long lasting. They're also ICC certified, helps us to getting a good quality product. They also give us a competitive advantage over other suppliers that don't have Perma-Column® to provide that permanent foundation for our customers. Customers also love Perma-Column® because they're a long lasting product. They're going to provide them years of a good solid permanent foundation and not have to worry about the concerns of rotting or deterioration in the future with post frame buildings that typically can happen.
Hi, I'm Mark Stover with Perma-Column® and we are the leaders in permanent foundation systems. We have a family of products, Sturdi-Wall® and Sturdi-Wall® plus steel bracket systems which are the best bracket systems in the pole barn post frame industry for attaching wood to a steel bracket for concrete pours. The second thing that we're most notable for is ourPerma-Column®precast product. This line of precast products has revolutionized the pole barn and post frame industry. No longer will consumers have to deal with wood in the ground that ultimately will rot. It is a huge concern as the post frame industry continues to grow that the consumers are aware that some of the main practices of post frame builders is wood in the ground and we are now providing an alternative solution and we call it the permanent foundation solution. And it is aPerma-Column®precast concrete that installs the same way as a wood post that you dig your hole and it goes right into the ground and it'll last for generations. We build better, we build stronger, and we build the last.
I'm Jason with Meyer Building. We're out here. We just got these Perma-Column® delivered to a job site. We have a 30 by 40 building that we're getting started today. We really enjoy using the Perma-Column® for multiple reasons. A couple reasons are the concrete in the ground. Customers love that for the long term durability and not to worry about rot and deterioration of wood posts. When they come out the job sites, it's great. We receive the Perma-Column® from our supplier on pallets as well as with the hardware kits for each Perma-Column®. We take the Perma-Column® in our shop and we assemble it with two by two lumber that we laminate together. We take the lumber and slide it into the Perma-Column® and bolt them and screw them together then. One thing we really like about the Perma-Column® is the cost savings because we don't have to use treated lumber. It's great for our customers as well as it saves money.
Hi, I'm Mark Stover with Perma-Column®. I am at the most favorite place that I ever want to be at. I'm at a job site with a Perma-Column® installation. This is the 30 by 40 building that's being built right now by a builder that uses Perma-Column® exclusively. They use it as a competitive advantage out in the marketplace so that when they're meeting in front of consumers or business people talking about what they do that makes them better post frame builders, they lead with permanent foundation systems and they lead with Perma-Column® as being the answer to that solution. Because they realize that a lot of consumers have a concern about wood in the ground and the opportunity and the potential that wood would rot. And the solution to some of these concerns is the fact that we have Perma-Column®, which is a five foot precast concrete post with non treated wood attached to it. So this is the perfect solution that you can have to be able to ensure a permanent foundation system because consumers want buildings that are going to last for generations. Our Perma-Column® are ICC certified which means that they meet the international building codes and the international residential codes. Customers and builders can be assured with an ICC certified product that you have the highest quality product in the marketplace. We build better, we build stronger, and we build the last.
Today I'd like to discuss with you the assembly procedure for a Perma-Column® precast concrete column to a nail laminated column. So you can see here that this one's already been assembled. If they weren't assembled when they arrived to you, every Perma-Column® comes with a hardware kit, which will have two half inch hex bolts with the corresponding nuts and washers, as well as the corresponding number of quarter by three screws depending on what size of Perma-Column® you have. This is a Perma-Column® 6,300 for a three ply two by six column, so it only comes with four quarter by three screws. The assembly is is rather simple. You have your nail laminated column, and you have your Perma-Column®. Simply slide them together, and then install your quarter by three screws. Drill through the bracket through your lumber, slide your half inch bolts, apply your nuts and washers appropriately. It's that simple. Build better, build stronger, build to last.
Hi, my name is Matthew Gerber. I'm with TriState Perma-Column, and today I'm going to show you the installation procedure for a Perma-Column® Uplift Anchor. The Uplift Anchor is an optional accessory that is not required to use for any standard installation. However, it is recommended for additional uplift protection for your post frame building. The uplift anchors come in two different sizes. One is for a six inch series Perma-Column® and the other one is for a eight inch series Perma-Column®. Today, I'm gonna show you the installation of the uplift anchor on a Perma-Column® six three hundred, which is a six inch series Perma-Column. So each uplift anchor kit comes with two uplift anchor angles, one half by seven inch hex bolt, a half inch washer, and a half inch flanged serrated locking nut. So you'll notice that every Perma-Column® you receive comes with a sleeve at the bottom of it that allows accepts a half inch bolt. So let's see how this thing installs. So I'm gonna take one of my angles and my half inch bolt with my washer on the head side. I'm gonna slide it through here and then I'm gonna put my bolt into that pre in that sleeve that's already in the PermaColor. You'll see it come up to the top. Let me take my other angle, slide it over the bolt, and fasten my nut on top. Once I've got that started, now take a an adjustable wrench or a three quarter inch wrench one or the other and seat that on there. You're probably gonna need an impact of some sort with a three quarter socket. You wanna adjust your uplift anchors to make sure they're straight, and then you can seat it down from there. And that's how you install a Perma-Column® uplift anchor. Build better, build stronger, build to last.
Hi, I'm Matthew Gerber with Tri State Perma-Column® , a licensed distributor and pre caster of the Perma-Column® family of products. Here you'll see a delivery of material to a job site in Decatur, Indiana for one of our customers. The Perma-Column® family of products are all ICC certified. And what that means to you as a builder or lumberyard is that you're going to be getting a quality product that is third party tested. A key part of the foundation system in any post frame building is the footing. There's primarily three types of footings that you can use, depending on your engineer's specifications. One of which is just a simple poured pad. So you go drill your hole, you get a ready mix truck come out, and they pour concrete into the hole. That's an acceptable method. Another acceptable method is to use a precast concrete cookie. That cookie is poured somewhere else and delivered directly to your job site. The installer then puts it into the hole directly. Finally, the third option and the newest in the marketplace is the AGCO Footing Pad. The AGCO Footing Pad is ICC certified and gives the builder and installer the confidence to know that this product is engineered and designed for a specific application. When you choose what system you want to use, think about longevity, think about ease of install for you and your builders. So we've just finished drilling our holes, and now I'm going to show you how to install a precast concrete cookie. As you get over to the hole, get it lined up and you're gonna carefully drop it in the hole and adjust it if needed. And there you have it. And I'm gonna show you how to install an ATCO footing pad. There you go. You're ready to set your Perma-Column® . So we just finished drilling all of our post holes for this project. We've got our pads, putting pads in the ground, and now we've got our PermaColm ready to go. We've got our uplift anchors attached to the bottom. Our nail lamp is already attached to the PermaColm. We're gonna use a skid loader to haul it over the hole and we're ready to go. Our footing pads already in the hole so now we're ready to install the Perma-Column® . So I'll put this wood on the backside that way it stays in place. I'm gonna then take take the end of the Perma-Column® into the into the column and lift it up and slowly slide it toward the hole and let it hit the wood. Then I'll lift it up in place and away we go. Once it's in the hole, then you'll use your standard your standard bracing framing procedures to get it plumb, vertical, and then and then you're ready to frame your building. The local building inspector was just out of this project where we're installing the Perma-Column® today. He stated that he loves when contractors use Perma-Column® because there's an assurity that the wood in the ground will not rot because it's not there. The industry is moving toward precast concrete systems, foundation systems in the post frame and pole barn industry. Perma-Column® is leading that trend. So as you build your next post frame building or as you're selling your next package, consider the impact to the industry and to your consumers and choose PermaCom. Build better, build stronger, build to last.
The post frame industry has three primary footing pad options. One is the precast concrete cookie, an Agco footing pad, and the third is a poured concrete pad. Today, we're pouring concrete pads on a light commercial project in Byrne, Indiana. Based on your code requirements and or the design specifications set out by your engineer, they will dictate what type of footing you need. On this project, we're doing 24 inches diameter holes with eight inches of poured concrete to ensure that we have the proper footing for our building. Then after our footings are poured, we're going to put a Perma-Column® precast concrete column on top of that footing, ensuring that we have a permanent foundation system. Build better, build stronger, build to last.
This is a light commercial project that we're on here today with a trenched insulated grade beam that's two feet deep, 10 inches wide with two inches of styrofoam around the outside perimeter. This Perma-Column® is gonna go in a 18 inch hole that's four foot deep. Right here we have a, again, a PC 6,300 with the PC 20 UA uplift anchors, which is an eight and a half inch uplift anchor for the six inch Perma-Column® series. We've also got our three ply two by six nail laminated column attached to the Perma-Column® using our hardware 63 kit. So we're gonna get this thing up in the air and show you how it goes. We've got our hole prepared. Again, 18 inches, 48 inches deep. We've got a footing pad in the bottom. We're ready to plop this thing in the hole. That's how easy it is. Now we'll get it plumbed and level and we're good to go. So you may be wondering, how do you do an insulated foundation using Perma-Column®? So I wanna show you a little bit of what we've done. First, we start off with trenching around the outside edge of our our building. Then we install our Perma-Column® as you would any other post. We attach our skirt board, and then we come back and attach two inches of styrofoam between the skirt board and what will be the trench and what will be filled with concrete. So we've cut this styrofoam to length. We're gonna slide it between our columns. We're gonna fasten it to the skirt board with a standard nail. That allows us to have the installation as required by code on the outside perimeter of our building giving us a permanent foundation system that's insulated and meets code requirements. Concrete truck just showed up. We're getting ready to fill this insulated grade beam with concrete. Here's how it's gonna go. So in a post frame building, the the concrete around the foundation is not the foundation of the building. The Perma-Column® itself is the foundation. The trenched insulated gray beam simply gives the building slab additional support at the edge of the building. This slab that will be on the inside of this building is technically a floating slab, which is standard in a post frame market. Whenever we use Perma-Column®, that acts as the permanent foundation system. The grade beam and the slab is just simply method to give you a nice inside floor for your building. We tie together the insulated grade beam with the slab using standard rebar pins. It goes into the grade beam and then kicks up into the slab to tie those two pores together at that cold joint. There you have it folks. You've now seen a Perma-Column® installation on a light commercial project for the post frame industry. Perma-Column®, an insulated grade beam, skirt board installation, build better, build stronger, build to last.
